Love Your Ground
Release Date: Monday, November 3, 2008
This here EP marks the second occasion on which the band were lucky enough to write, record, and release a few songs to the wider world as Mumford & Sons. When they decided to start their family trade, the four brothers wanted to do it as well as they could and with as much love as they could.
The recordings of these here songs was done down at a lovely little house in Devon with a view of the sea and a nice patio, and the boys were extremely kindly hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Lovett. Ben was producer-in-charge of the whole thing, but the band would all like to take unjust and disproportionate credit, so let’s just say they all produced it. Ted takes sole credit for whisky-bottle-shaking, and now the boys know his five favourite vegetables. Marcus takes credit for keeping Mrs. Lovett awake whilst singing in the pantry at three in the morning. Country Winston for busting the Reebok Classics even in a sail-boat. Meanwhile, they picked up a serious sense of loving the ground they were on, whether in the city in which they lived with all its faults, or in the country in which they recognise their heritage. And so, to one and all, “Love Your Ground.”
Released through Chess Club Records on limited edition 10” vinyl.

Mumford & Sons release their new single, ‘Little Lion Man’ through Gentlemen Of The Road / Island Records on the 28th September 2009. It is taken from the band’s forthcoming debut album, ‘Sigh No More’, released on the 5th October.

Creating a gutsy, old-time sound that marries the magic of Crosby, Stills & Nash with the might of Kings of Leon, the incredible energy of Mumford & Sons draws us quickly into their circle of songs: to the warmth of their stories and to this magical community of misty-eyed men.
