Your Mumford & Sons ‘Babel’ Questions: Answered

Naturally there have been numerous questions since Mumford & Sons announced their forthcoming album, Babel. For the sake of not flooding the blog, I have answered several of your questions regarding the new album, including release dates (psst! Canadian followers, this means you!), preorders, the first single, and even how you pronounce the album title, after the break.

The band have not given any details about what will and will not be available to preorder, but I will post any information here on M&S Blog as it is made available. Babel will be available to preorder from Mumford & Sons’ official website starting Monday, July 23rd.

I took those dates directly from the Mumford & Sons official website, but quick Google search tells me Babel will be released in Canada on September 25th.

Unfortunately, I don’t know. The only dates that have been released are listed here. I promise I’ll publish more information as it comes to me!

The first syllable rhymes with the word “bay,” and the second syllable rhymes with the word “bobble.”

IPA: [‘bæbəl]
The first syllable rhymes with “cat”, and the second syllable rhymes with the second syllable of the word “bobble.”

Basically, you can say it in the way that comes naturally to you, as there are different regional dialects and accents. There is no wrong pronunciation.
