Is that picture of Ted as the Tumblr home page real or photo shopped? I screamed a little when I saw that so I have to know if it's real
It’s 100% real, as I took the screen cap myself. Other people have come across it, too.
Cheers!

Come back! I miss you (and by 'you' I obviously mean the quality Mumford you add to my dashbord)!
Hello! Thank you for missing me. I’ve taken a bit of a holiday since the band haven’t been touring, but I’ll be back full-force soon with new photos, videos, and more. I’ve already got some updates from the band that I’ll post first—including a fantastic art contest some of you may already know about!
During my little holiday, this blog turned two years old! Over the course of those two years much has changed, but the focus of this blog has stayed the same, and that has been to bring each of you the best Mumford & Sons content and information possible. I am grateful for all 13,387 of you who follow this blog, so thank you and here’s to Mumford & Sons. Cheers!

A little while back, I think you may have gotten an ask saying that there was the funniest interview done by the boys on pinkpop or something. It was kind of silly questions and at the start of the interview each member did a mug shot. I'm terrible at describing things. Would you happen to have a link to that interview?
Hello! I know the exact interview you’re looking for. It is actually from 2010 and is generally regarded as one of the best interviews the band have ever done. Click here to watch Mumford & Sons on VH1 Rap Sheet.
Thank you for the question, and enjoy!

I'm having some trouble downloading the BBC performance. The link isn't working with the program I'm using. Any suggestions?
Hello! You shouldn’t need a program to download the file; just click the download link on the MediaFire page and the download should begin immediately, regardless of your browser. Once you’ve downloaded it, however, you’ll need a simple RAR converter (such as SimplyRAR or Stuffit Expander) to extract the mp3s.
I hope this helps. If not, please either message me off anonymous so I can offer you more tailored assistance privately or, if you don’t have a tumblr, you can message me on M&S Blog’s Facebook page. Cheers!

Hi I have seen the name Ross tossed around a few times in the mumford fandom with no real explanation as to who he is so could you tell me?
Hello! Thank you for the question!
Photo © Mixtape Entertainment.
Ross Holmes was a member of the now-defunct band Cadillac Sky, who toured with Mumford & Sons in 2010. After Cadillac Sky broke up, the Mumfords commandeered Ross to join them on tour as their fiddle player. As time wore on, he took a more pivotal role in the band’s music and, in addition to playing on many old songs, he was eventually responsible for arranging the string parts on Babel along with Nick Catchpole. Now you can always find him playing on tour with Mumford & Sons.
Click here to go through the Ross Holmes archive here on M&S Blog, where you can find photos, videos, audio posts, and more.
If you’d like to hear some samples of Ross’ brilliant fiddle playing, you can go through the “Ghosts That We Knew” archive. Another fine example of some of Ross’ more upbeat fiddle playing (and a personal favorite) is this live recording of “Awake My Soul” from Mumford & Sons’ 2011 Hyde Park show.
I hope this helps. Cheers!

why are there no photos or video footage from the Madrid, Spain concert on March 21st of this year on the blog?
Hello! While I try to post as much as I can from as many concerts as possible, I am limited to what photos and videos are posted by photographers, videographers, the venues and fans. I have searched multiple times for quality content from the Madrid show and have come up empty handed thus far—with the exception of a few grainy fan photos and poor quality videos. Some concerts, such as the recent shows in Amsterdam and Düsseldorf, result in an abundance of quality content, while others, such as the Madrid show, do not.
I hope you can understand that I try to provide only the best content that is available and am always searching for new items to post from any and all concerts. Thank you for your question, and I will post new content from Madrid if I happen upon any.
Edit - If you’d like to check out the small number of photos I have found from the Madrid show so far, go here, here, here, and here. Cheers!

Can you please post the picture of Ted at the zenith that you posted on Instagram, here? I love it and I can't find it here, thanks.
Hello! I assume you’re talking about this photo, and yes I can post it here on tumblr! Look for it and several other photos from the Munich show to be posted here later today. I won’t always post the same photos on Instagram as on tumblr, though, so everyone should be sure to follow M&S Blog on Instagram for exclusive content.
Thank you for the question!

Hi, what old video are the gifs from that you just posted? You're amazing, thank you!! :-)
Hello! I assume you mean the second two gifs in this gif set? Those gifs are from this 2008 video of Mumford & Sons performing “The Banjolin Song” for Balcony TV in Dublin. Enjoy, and thank you for the question!

So please answer if you can: did the boys really all get each other mandolins as a Christmas present or am I just an idiot not understanding a joke?
Hello! Firstly, you are certainly not an idiot. An article was recently published on The Onion, a satirical media outlet, that reported all the members of Mumford & Sons bought each other mandolins for Christmas:
The article, having been published on a satirical website, is only intended for entertainment purposes and is not, in fact, true. It is only meant to be funny.
It should also be noted that Love Your Ground was actually Mumford & Sons’ second EP. This was the band’s debut EP. #factchecking
Thank you for the question, and I hope this clears up any confusion!

I've been looking all over for a download of the 2010 iTunes festival with Laura Marling and the Dharohar Project and I can't seem to find it anywhere. I've checked iTunes and everything and your download doesn't seem to work anymore. I was just wondering if maybe you could re-upload them or direct me somewhere that I could find this?
Hello! I’ve just checked my download for that particular concert and it’s working fine on the blog right here. From that post, you should be able to download Mumford & Sons’ 2009 and 2010 performances, including everything with Laura Marling and the Dharohar Project in 2010.
Thank you for the question, and I hope this helps.

I was hoping to download "Come thou Fount", it being Christmas time and all, but I see the link isn't working. Would it be possible to get a new link?
Absolutely! Click here to go to the audio post for Mumford & Sons’ version of “Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing” where there is a fresh download link. Enjoy!

So I saw that Mumford and Sons scored a nomination for best Americana album. Do you think that they are an Americana band?
Hello! Mumford & Sons’ album Babel has indeed been nominated for the Best Americana Album GRAMMY, along with several others. According to the GRAMMY website:
Americana music has its roots in the folk-rock and “outlaw country” styles of the 1970s, adding elements of rock, folk, bluegrass, R&B, blues and pop to country music, resulting in a distinctive roots-oriented sound that lives in a world apart from country and the other genres it may draw upon. While some acoustic instruments are often present, especially acoustic guitar, Americana often uses a full electric band. Americana may retain the twang of country, but with a pronounced edge—often musical or political—that would not be mistaken for today’s commercial country music.
You can also find more details about the Best Americana Album category here. Previous winners in this GRAMMY category include Mavis Staples and the late Levon Helm.
Thank you for the question, and I hope this helps to clarify the nomination. Be sure to watch the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, February 10, 2013 on CBS.
