So here’s something neat. I haven’t seen this version of the Banjolin Song with Johnny Flynn oot and aboot on Tumblr. It’s a preview/unused version for the Take Away Show. Maybe you have. I love it. I wish I was a bajillionaire and could hire them as my town’s roving troubadours. And is Ted walking and playing the double bass?!

after watching the video (courtesy of Nick, thanks man!) of their backyard performance, i decided i wanted to own this foreign language version of the song in mp3 format. after a little digging, i found a decent-enough recording of it to add to my iTunes. if you also would like to have it, send me a message and i’ll send you the link for the download. oh… and have a happy Labor Day weekend!

Johnny Flynn discusses Mumford and Sons
You get lumped together with your friends Mumford and Sons and Laura Marling as a new London folk “scene.” What do you think of their successes, specifically of Mumford and Sons?
JF: We always knew they would be massive because they have that epic sound with a wide appeal. Their shows are really exciting. The energy of who they are and what they’re wanting to achieve, that’s how they’ve set it up.
I love those guys, and they’ve been incredibly helpful to us. They supported us on our first American tour around the U.S., and now we’ve supported them around the UK. It opens doors.
