I saw the video you just posted of them performing Sister. Do you think it'll be on the new album? I love that song so much. . .
Hello! That video is great, isn’t it? In all honesty, I doubt “Sister” will be on the new album; it’s not actually a new song, as it was released on Mumford & Sons’ second EP Love Your Ground in 2008, and then the band released a “new studio version” soon after. Similarly:

…I doubt they’d release “Liar” again, too. The only song that’s been confirmed to be on the new album is “Below My Feet.” Everything else is still up in the air, though the list in that last question has great potential. I will say, however, that “Broken Crown” samples the original “To Darkness,” so it’s highly unlikely that “To Darkness” will be included; it was already released on the “Little Lion Man” single, anyway. “Feel the Tide” is one of the band’s oldest songs, and it was also included on the Love Your Ground EP, so that most likely will not be on the new album, either. Furthermore, it would seem you are correct that “Home” will probably not make it onto the new album (unless the band are pulling one over on everyone!). As far as new, “unheard” songs are concerned, who knows? The band have said that they like to “play in” their new material, but perhaps they’ve held back a song or two.
All of this is to say that only time will tell what will end up on the new album. September 24th is getting closer every day!

Hey, Thanks for re posting! I saw this the first time and it will always be a favorite of mine! I do hope it will be on the new album. They practice their new songs on the road to get it just right as they always say, so it seems that you may be right that it will be on the new album. Any chance you have the lyrics to the song?
I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
Here are the lyrics as Mumford & Sons performed “Broken Crown” at The Ryman on March 7th, but remember that nothing is set in stone until the album comes out (assuming this song is on it):
Touch my mouth and hold my tongue
I’ll never be your chosen one
I’ll be home, safe and tucked away
You can’t tempt me if I don’t see the dayThe pull on my flesh is just too strong
It stifled the choice and the air in my lungs
Better not to breath than to breathe a lie
‘Cause when I open my body I breathe a lieI will not speak of your sin
There was a way out for him
The mirrors show not
Your values are all shotBut oh, my heart was flawed
I knew my weakness
So hold my hand
consign me not to darknessSo crawl on my belly ‘til the sun goes down
I’ll never wear your broken crown
I took the road and I fucked it all away
In this twilight, how dare you speak of graceSo crawl on my belly ‘til the sun goes down
I’ll never wear your broken crown
I took the road and I fucked it all away
In this twilight, how dare you speak of graceSo crawl on my belly ‘til the sun goes down
I’ll never wear your broken crown
I can take the road, and I can fuck it all away
In this twilight, our choices seal our fate.

Did you guys ever record Broken Crown? Ive been trying to find it for quite a while now all i can find is Live performances
Hi there! Firstly, here’s a friendly reminder to all my followers that I am not Mumford & Sons.
“Broken Crown” is considered a new song because it was written after Sigh No More. M&S have been in the studio recording their sophomore full-length album since last summer and we can assume that song will be on it, but they have been mum (I’m punny) about its content. So, until the new album is released or at the very least announced, no one knows for sure which new tracks have made the cut. It is my personal opinion that “Broken Crown” will probably be on the new album because M&S performed it during their residency at The Ryman in March, and I doubt they would perform a track if it had fallen by the wayside.
I hope this helps. Click here for everything posted on M&S Blog related to the song “Broken Crown,” including videos and downloads, and please let me know if you have any other questions.
