JUST ANNOUNCED: Mumford & Sons to headline Lollapalooza alongside The Cure, The Killers, Nine Inch Nails, Phoenix, The Postal Service, Vampire Weekend, and New Order! Mumford & Sons will headline the festival on Saturday, August 3rd!
All 3-day passes to the August 2nd-4th festival are sold out, but 1-day passes go on sale this Wednesday, April 3rd at this link.

Marcus Mumford and Winston Marshall of Mumford & Sons stopped by the Chicago Music Exchange [August 16, 2012] before their big gig at the Chicago Theatre. After touring the vault and playing all sorts of rare vintage Gibsons, Winston went hunting specifically for an old SG and wound up falling in love with a special one– the ’79 Gibson “The SG” that used to belong to CME’s very own Joel Bauman. Joel was a little sad to see it go but took solace in the fact that Winston rocked the sold-out Chicago Theater on his former axe that very night. During their performance Winston said, “Chicago changed me” as he pulled out “The SG” and played it instead of his trusty banjo on 5 songs…

We are aware that a number of fans have been left disappointed by recent ticketing issues surrounding the WXRT 40th Anniversary Concert the band are due to perform at on 16th August. Aside from the fact that demand for this show has far outweighed ticket supply, it has been brought to our attention that large numbers of tickets have appeared for resale via unauthorised outlets. We would like to make absolutely clear that Mumford & Sons and all members of the team, in no way support nor have any links with such extremely unwelcome activity and continue to explore appropriate solutions to this industry-wide issue.
In this instance, our ticket agents have investigated and recalled tickets from all parties whom they suspect of having purchased solely for the purpose of reselling. As a result we can now put back for sale a limited number of tickets for the show. If you do not already have tickets for the show and you’d like to apply for the ticket lottery please click here for further details (deadline 10am local time Friday August 3rd).
We have also been alerted to the fact that due to an administrative error, an incorrect ticket link was included in a news story on our website. While every effort is made to ensure that the correct information is communicated to fans, on this occasion due to human error, unfortunately one did slip through the net. We sincerely apologise to fans for any confusion this may have caused.
