We’ve selected The Voice Project for the Spring Campaign.
This is a charity that has a worldwide focus and impact which we felt was important since Mumford & Sons fans are from everywhere, and yet, does not have such a great budget that what we do will be but a drop in the bucket. It also has ties to the goals of Invisible Children, the first charity we have supported, and supports the people impacted by conflict in LRA-impacted areas in Africa along with several other critical human rights issues of the day.
Take a look at the video, look through some of the amazing cover songs from Mumford & Sons tourmates, Dawes and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros as well as other great artists, learn about the songs of forgiveness, as well as the numerous other worldwide activities they do to use the power of music to bring peaceful resolution to conflicts around the world.
Decide if you’d like to send something their way to help them continue their work and donate on our Crowdrise Page.
Our vision: Mumford & Sons have made our lives better. They’ve impacted who we are. They give us respite and calm and joy and energy and when the day feels like it’s taken us by the ankles and is shaking us for loose change, they seem to set us right. The Wayside Inn is a chance to say thank you and convert some of the powerful emotion and love this band sparks in many of us into something tangible. Let the good they bring into the world multiply through us, their fans. Let it make life better for someone else.
This is an incredibly worthwhile cause that all Mumford & Sons fans should consider supporting. Check out The Wayside Inn Group, get involved, and donate to The Voice Project if you can!
An awesome Twitter user - @MumfordsLyrics that posts Mumford & Sons’ lyrics has pledged to donate .25 for every retweet.

Just like it’s no doubt happening in your life, December is our last, manic push to the finish line. Our last big hurrah before 2012. Things are crazy. Mumford & Sons is getting nominated for Grammys and we still want to raise $1000.00 for Invisible Children. We’re currently at $420.00. So that means we need more help, more outreach, and definitely more contests and we, hope, more fun.
So on top of another hoodie contest for a random donor and another reblogging, signal boosting, go tell it on the mountain frenzy contest for a SNM: Deluxe, we’re holding an impromptu silent auction. The highest donor in December wins originals of these really beautiful drawings of the band at the bottom of this post. Let us know if you think they should be separated for four winners and we’ll consider it. The pictures, not the band. Perish the thought.
Thanks to artfortheroad for such a generous and lovely gift for our donors. You are so talented. Check out her tumblr for more of her amazing art of the band. And of course: put in your donation and keep checking the donation list to make sure you win. www.crowdrise.com/thewaysideinn
We’re also VERY open to input, ideas for 2012 fundraising drives, further donations for prizes. Ask box me or send an email to email@example.com.
Get involved, you guys! Support Invisible Children in the name of Mumford & Sons!
Reblog or like this post to be entered to win the Sigh No More Deluxe Edition, and click through to the December Giveaway page on my blog for details about how you can donate and be entered to win the hoodie and the beautiful artwork. Thank you in advance for supporting Invisible Children.
There are only three days left, you guys! Here’s how you can get involved as Mumford & Sons fans to support Invisible Children, and maybe win some awesome things in the process:
- If you are on tumblr, like or reblog this post by November 30th (that’s this Wednesday!) to be entered to win the Mumford & Sons Sigh No More Deluxe Edition in a drawing.
- Donate to Invisible Children and be entered to win a Mumford & Sons hoodie of your choice by a random drawing! Donate here to be entered automatically, or donate directly to Invisible Children and forward your receipt to firstname.lastname@example.org to be entered manually.
Anyone can participate. We here at Mumford & Sons Blog in partnership with The Wayside Inn want to give back in honor of Mumford & Sons and all they’ve given us through their music; what better way than to champion a charity the boys themselves support?
Get involved. Research the charity. Like or reblog this post to spread the word. Donate what you can, only if you can. Win some sweet M&S stuff in the process. Make the world a better place, all because of what Mumford & Sons have given us in their music.
EDIT - You must like or reblog the post linked to here to be entered for the Sigh No More Deluxe Edition. Liking and reblogging this post—the one you’re reading right now—does not enter you to win, even though it helps to spread the word. You must click through to like or reblog THIS POST. :)
Help us help a charity that we and Mumford & Sons cares about: Invisible Children. Help break a horrific cycle of violence. Help us reach our goal. We think our bandom is full of passionate, creative and generous people. Agree? Donate and/or reblog.
