Throwback Thursdays: “Home,” Mumford & Sons: 2011 Concert Highlights
Mumford & Sons stopped by KBCO Radio in Colorado for a live in-studio appearance on June 15, 2011, where they gave a rare performance of “Home.” While many expected this stunning track to find its way onto Mumford & Sons’ 2013 album Babel, it eventually disappeared from the band’s live repertoire.

Do you think "Where are you now?" is not going to be on the new album, or that it has another name :)?
Hello! I’ve already received three messages regarding the fact that “Where Are You Now” is missing from the album track list of Babel, in addition to “Home”/”Meet Me Tomorrow”. Only time will tell the fate of these songs, but it’s possible they may be on the album under new names. It’s also quite possible that they could be released as the B-side tracks on any singles released by the band, which is how “To Darkness”, “Hold On To What You Believe”, and “Untitled”/”Nothing is Written” (now presumably “I Will Wait” on the new album) were originally released; check out the Discography for more details.
Thanks for the question!

Mumford & Sons sing “Meet Me Tomorrow” in this clip from tour documentary Big Easy Express. Recorded in April 2011, this song has hints of Mumford & Sons’ other song “Home” in it.

Big Easy Express will be released on iTunes on Tuesday, June 26th, and Blu-ray/DVD July 24th.

I saw the video you just posted of them performing Sister. Do you think it'll be on the new album? I love that song so much. . .
Hello! That video is great, isn’t it? In all honesty, I doubt “Sister” will be on the new album; it’s not actually a new song, as it was released on Mumford & Sons’ second EP Love Your Ground in 2008, and then the band released a “new studio version” soon after. Similarly:

…I doubt they’d release “Liar” again, too. The only song that’s been confirmed to be on the new album is “Below My Feet.” Everything else is still up in the air, though the list in that last question has great potential. I will say, however, that “Broken Crown” samples the original “To Darkness,” so it’s highly unlikely that “To Darkness” will be included; it was already released on the “Little Lion Man” single, anyway. “Feel the Tide” is one of the band’s oldest songs, and it was also included on the Love Your Ground EP, so that most likely will not be on the new album, either. Furthermore, it would seem you are correct that “Home” will probably not make it onto the new album (unless the band are pulling one over on everyone!). As far as new, “unheard” songs are concerned, who knows? The band have said that they like to “play in” their new material, but perhaps they’ve held back a song or two.
All of this is to say that only time will tell what will end up on the new album. September 24th is getting closer every day!

Hi, so I'm under the impression that I'm contacting the members of Mumford & Sons, whether directly or indirectly. So anyway, I wanted to buy "Home" on Itunes, but I couldn't find it. What's the deal? Is it not released on iTunes? If not, where can I get it online besides on a CD?Thanks.
Hi there. I am sorry but, as I say on the Content Statement page of my blog, I am not Mumford & Sons, so by sending a message to me you are not sending a message to them.
HOWEVER, I can answer your question. Mumford & Sons gave a live, in-studio performance of “Home” at KBCO Radio in Colorado in June 2011. The radio station posted the archived audio of the performance and The Media (meaning the national and worldwide “news” outlets) began circulating the news that “Home” had been released as the new single. This was obviously not true, seeing as Mumford & Sons did not even enter the recording studio to begin work on their sophomore album until after they left Colorado.
Only within the past couple of weeks have Mumford & Sons confirmed that they’ve just finished recording the album, though it is still being mixed. No release date has been given. Furthermore, the boys are keeping mum about the tracks that have made it on to the new album, so there’s no guarantee that “Home” will even be released at all. As a matter of fact, Ted mentioned to a couple of fans at a show in Toronto that the song had sort of fallen by the wayside, but we won’t know for sure until the album is released. All of this is to say that “Home” has not been released on iTunes or anywhere else.
So that’s the deal. If it’s any consolation, you can click here to listen to and download an mp3 of the version of “Home” Mumford & Sons performed at KBCO Radio. It is the best quality recording of the song available. I hope this helps.

From RollingStone.com:
Mumford & Sons, “Untitled”
This still-nameless ballad (fans are calling it “Home”) sounds like Arcade Fire reborn as a string band. Cut live in a radio station, it’s a slow-builder that threatens to explode but never does. It may be a taste of Mums’ upcoming LP; either way, its sad hunger feels universal.
