Your Mumford & Sons ‘Babel’ Questions: Answered
Naturally there have been numerous questions since Mumford & Sons announced their forthcoming album, Babel. For the sake of not flooding the blog, I have answered several of your questions regarding the new album, including release dates (psst! Canadian followers, this means you!), preorders, the first single, and even how you pronounce the album title, after the break.

Ted Dwane’s other band, Moulettes
A submission:
Between 2005-2007 Ted was in a band called Moulettes. Last year he returned to record with them on their second album, ‘The Bear’s Revenge’, due out in June. He plays on most of the tracks, including the single, ‘Sing Unto Me’ and also contributes backing vocals. He says he’s “pleased as punch” with the results. He will be guesting with them live at the single launch on April 11th and 12th. You can find more information about the event by clicking here.
The band’s most recent photos with Ted in them were taken by Max Knight, who also did Mumford & Sons’ Sigh No More front cover shot and much else for the Mumfords. You can see them by clicking here and also below. There’s a video to come for the single in which Ted participates. I’ll keep you posted on other Ted/Moulettes news.
Thank you for the information and we look forward to the upcoming music video for “Sing Unto Me” and more news about Moulettes!

Everyone has got very used to Mumford & Sons being enormous by now. But it only truly dawned on me the other day when I overheard a woman on a non-music related radio show, saying that the three biggest selling artists in the USA this year are Adele, Lady Gaga and Mumford & Sons…
I shot their album cover in 2009. Its strange thinking that over two million people have bought a package, physically or digitally, that is fronted by my photograph. Obviously it feels great - but with album artwork having a fraction of the impact it once had - it certainly doesn’t feel as great as it should.
Anyway - I thought I’d post an offshoot. I had wanted to shoot some form of this idea for a while, originally as a press shot, so when the guys asked me to shoot it as a cover, I was pretty excited. It was a boiling hot day, they were late (as usual…) and we had to deal with traffic, window reflections, strange choices of outfit (mainly Winston and Ben) and the pub next door full of happy drunk people watching the Wimbledon final.
It was a really tough day but despite my cynical opinions on the state of artwork and the roles of creatives in the music industry - I am really pleased these guys have done so well and thankful that my photograph has been along for the ride with them.
Max Knight is such an amazing photographer. How lucky Mumford and Sons are to have had his work grace the cover of their album. I find the cover shot to be quite iconic. Thank you for sharing your talent, Max.
